School is cool. That's why I spent so many years there.
The Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program (SHERP) at New York University - it is a breeding ground of genius science journalists and I was privledged to recently earn my Masters degree amongst them. The 29's (i.e. the 29th graduating class of SHERP) are doing some awesome things!

The Columbia University Neuroscience program was the most intense and delightful think tank of smarties. My classmates and fellow alums continue to amaze. My PhD advisor, Lorna Role, helped forge my passionate scientific mind, and my co-advisor, David Talmage, tempered it with calm and rigorous attention to detail. Add to that brilliant and fun lab mates like Mike Lieberman, Melissa Hancock, and Jasmine Chen - what more could a girl ask for?
Here is a list of some of the other amazing people I got to spend time with at Columbia. Darcy, Claudia, Rae, Erik, Tamily, Chiara, Dan, Sam, Kandel, Keri, Adijat, Donald, Claire, Dan, Sally, Josh...

At the University of Pennsylvania I got to learn from professors at the acme of their fields. As a Biology major with a Neurobiology concentration I was advised by Rita Ballace-Gordon and Nancy Bonini.
Here is a short list of my favorite professors, with links to their current web presence. Henry Gleitman, Psychology; Marian Eide, James Joyce; Ingrid Waldron, Physiological and Psychosocial Influences on Health; the philosophical concept of self with TK, organic chemistry with TK, and ceramic sculpture with TK.
I was also a part-time thespian, appearing in three productions, including A Misummer Night's Dream directed by Henry Gleitman.
